Scholarships

Undergraduates

Many scholarships are available through the School of Engineering and our department.  The amount and number of scholarships, as well as the requirements of each scholarship, vary each year.

Scholarships will be announced through emails to all students in the department, postings in the Centennial Engineering Center, and information on the departmental web site.  Departmental scholarships usually require that you have received admission to the Nuclear Engineering major.

Graduate Students

Scholarships for graduate students are available through the School of Engineering.  Interested graduate students should apply when scholarship announcements are made through the departmental listserv.

International Graduate Students

There is one scholarship for international students, the International Amigo Scholarship, administered by the Office of International Admissions, Global Education Office.

ALL International Graduate students will be considered for this scholarship upon admission to a UNM graduate program AND nomination by the graduate department. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited in number.

The International Amigo Scholarship allows international students to pay in-state tuition (a value of more than $10,000 per year) and provides a cash award of $200 per year.

The scholarship may be renewed annually for up to four semesters for master’ s students and eight semesters for doctoral students, as long as the student meets the required credit hour and GPA standards.
