The Nuclear Engineering Department (NE) at The University of New Mexico welcomes you as an undergraduate student or prospective student. Our faculty, staff, and students are eager to assist you in exploring, learning, and experiencing this exciting yet, unique discipline. Nuclear Engineering students benefit from comprehensive advising. Students are required to meet with the academic advisor and after admission into the program their faculty advisor before registering each semester. Exceptionally motivated students will want to explore the Departmental Honors Program, an opportunity to further enhance your educational experience with hands-on research and completion of an honors thesis. Students approaching the end of the degree program must complete an Application for Undergraduate Degree and have your coursework reviewed and approved for graduation. The School of Engineering holds its own Convocation Ceremony, a graduation ceremony only for engineering students. You will find details on these topics and more in this section.
