Biography
Dr. Minghui Chen is currently an Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of New Mexico (UNM). Dr. Chen joined UNM as an Assistant Professor in 2019. Prior to that, Dr. Chen was a research fellow in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Dr. Chen earned his B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Harbin Engineering University in China in 2011, his M.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2015, and Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in 2018.
Dr. Minghui Chen is an inaugural winner of the Distinguished Early Career Award granted by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy. Dr. Chen won the UNM School of Engineering's Early Career Research Excellence Award in 2024.
